About the role
Hiring on behalf of a leading government entity to design and optimise a fair, transparent and financially sustainable waste-tariff system aligned with UAE regulations and international best practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and continual optimisation of the waste tariff framework to ensure cost recovery and regulatory compliance.
- Establish the end-to-end tariff process: validation, quality assurance and forecasting.
- Build a structured approach to financial, environmental and social impact assessments to inform price adjustments.
- Monitor and refine tariff models using cost assessments, stakeholder feedback and policy updates.
- Coordinate with finance, regulatory, operations and external stakeholders to drive transparent implementation.
- Integrate global best practices to improve efficiency and resilience of waste services.
Candidate requirements
- 710+ years in utilities pricing/tariffs or regulatory economics (waste/water/energy/GCC).
- Demonstrated cost-to-serve and revenue adequacy modelling, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and forecasting (Advanced Excel/BI).
- Experience preparing options papers and regulatory submissions; strong policy/report writing.
- Bachelors in Economics/Engineering/Finance/Public Policy (Masters preferred).
- Fluent Arabic and English
