Job Purpose
The Water Sports Instructor is a site-based role responsible for the safe, professional, and engaging delivery of water sports activities within the designated asset.
This role ensures guests receive high-quality instruction, guidance, and supervision across a range of water-based activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service excellence, and operational discipline. The Water Sports Instructor plays a key role in delivering memorable guest experiences within a luxury marine tourism environment, while supporting daily operations and equipment readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1. General Responsibilities
- Deliver water sports activities and instruction in a safe, professional, and engaging manner.
- Provide clear briefings and demonstrations to guests prior to all activities.
- Supervise guests during all water-based activities to ensure safety and enjoyment.
- Support the Water Sports / Dive Center Manager in daily operational requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold luxury hospitality standards at all times.
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and general operational readiness.
2. Pre-Opening Support
- Assist in the setup and operational readiness of water sports facilities, equipment, and activity areas.
- Support cross-functional teams during the delivery phase to ensure operational standards and safety requirements are met.
- Contribute to the familiarization of activity locations, equipment, and safety procedures.
3. Operational Responsibilities (Post-Opening)
- Conduct water sports sessions including (but not limited to): kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, wake activities, and other approved marine activities.
- Ensure all guests are properly fitted with equipment and briefed on safety procedures.
- Monitor environmental and weather conditions to ensure safe activity delivery.
- Maintain and inspect all water sports equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Report and escalate any equipment damage or safety concerns immediately.
- Provide exceptional guest service and ensure a high-quality, enjoyable experience.
- Assist in organizing daily activity schedules and guest allocations.
- Support inventory tracking and basic equipment maintenance records.
4. Health, Safety, Environment & Quality
- Ensure safety is the highest priority in all water sports activities.
- Enforce compliance with all safety protocols, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and ensure all gear is safe for use.
- Promote environmental awareness and responsible use of marine environments.
- Ensure adherence to company and regulatory safety standards at all times.
5. Policies, Procedures & Reporting
- Follow all company policies, SOPs, and operational guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, and equipment usage where required.
- Report any operational issues, guest concerns, or safety risks promptly to management.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the improvement of guest experience, safety practices, and operational efficiency.
- Support the development of new water sports experiences and activity offerings.
- Participate in training and upskilling programs as required.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Certification in water sports instruction or lifeguarding (e.g., ISA, RYA, ISA Watersports, or equivalent).
- Previous experience in water sports instruction, marine tourism, or resort operations.
- Strong understanding of water safety, rescue techniques, and risk management.
- Experience working in hospitality or guest-facing environments is preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification (valid and up to date).

- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
