Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Water & waste water Treatment Supervisor located in Qesm 1st 6 October. The Water Treatment Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of water treatment processes, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, monitor performance, and manage a team of operators. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting operational issues, maintaining detailed records, and implementing best practices to improve efficiency and safety in water treatment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations & Process Control

  • Monitor the performance of industrial wastewater treatment and boiler systems, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring continuous optimization.
  • Maintain accurate operational data, prepare regulatory compliance reports, and ensure adherence to environmental standards.
  • Recommend process adjustments such as chemical dosing, aeration rates, and other treatment parameters to achieve optimal efficiency and meet discharge limits.
  • Work closely with plant operators to implement process changes and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Train and supervise operators on sampling methods, laboratory analysis, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
  • Collect and analyze wastewater samples to measure pollutant levels including BOD, COD, TSS, and pH.
  • Track chemical stocks, manage inventory, and initiate purchase requests when required.
  • Oversee wastewater plant equipment and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, conduct routine troubleshooting, and report malfunctions.

2. Water & Wastewater Treatment Expertise

  • Conduct analytical testing of raw and treated wastewater, streams, sludge, and by-products to evaluate treatment efficiency and ensure compliance with water pollution control requirements.
  • Perform tests including settleable solids, suspended solids, total solids, volatile solids, volatile acids, alkalinity, pH, dissolved oxygen demand, turbidity, and others using standard laboratory equipment.
  • Recommend updates or improvements to laboratory procedures and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Lead and guide laboratory personnel in standard testing techniques and quality-control procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Experience working with pump stations and in beverage bottling/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Certification in Water Treatment or a related field is an advantage.

Requirements :

  • Previous experience 5 years as a Water Treatment Chemist handling industrial water & wastewater treatment and boiler systems preferred in soft drinks .
  • Laboratory experience is considered a plus.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory health and safety standards.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and reporting skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related Sciences field.
  • Residence in Cairo or Giza (preferably near 6th of October City) or willing to relocate.
