Responsible for quality inspection of welding, piping, fabrication, erection and coating activities, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, project specifications, ITPs and applicable industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabrication, installation, erection and testing of process piping, pipelines, structures, tanks, vessels and metallic items.
- Review WPS, PQR, weld maps and welding documentation; witness welder qualification tests.
- Verify material traceability, welding consumable control, storage and handling.
- Inspect fit-up, welding parameters, dimensional accuracy and final visual quality.
- Monitor welding equipment, calibration, PWHT records and contractor compliance.
- Prepare/review fit-up, visual inspection and daily welding reports.
- Inspect surface preparation, blasting, coating application, WFT/DFT, curing and recoating intervals.
- Verify coating materials, batch traceability, storage, applicator qualifications and equipment calibration.
- Witness required coating tests including holiday detection, adhesion and thickness testing.
- Identify defects/non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI – Welding.
- BGAS Grade II or NACE Level II – Coating/Painting.
- Minimum 10 years experience in Welding/Piping/Pipeline QC and Painting/Coating inspection.
- Oil & Gas/Petrochemical experience mandatory.
- Experience with major EPC contractors or their subcontractors preferred.
- Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, ITPs, inspection standards and documentation.
