Job Overview
Penta Global Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Welding Engineer to support welding engineering, inspection, and quality assurance activities across major industrial, infrastructure, and oil & gas projects. This is a site‑based role covering both onshore and offshore operations. The position requires advanced technical expertise in welding processes, procedures, and international standards. The successful candidate will ensure that all welding activities meet project specifications, applicable codes, and stringent quality requirements.
Key Requirements
- Mandatory certification: International Welding Engineer (IWE)
- Experience: Minimum 12+ years in welding engineering within large‑scale industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, or construction projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of welding procedures, inspection techniques, and QA/QC standards.
- Proven experience in onshore and offshore project environments.
- In‑depth understanding of welding codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, ISO, and related specifications.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex welding challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Welding Engineering & Procedure Development
- Prepare, review, and approve WPS, PQR, and welding method statements.
- Ensure welding procedures comply with project requirements, material specifications, and international codes.
- Evaluate welding consumables, materials, and equipment for suitability and compliance.
Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Monitor welding activities on site to ensure adherence to approved procedures and specifications.
- Conduct welder qualification tests and performance evaluations; maintain qualification records.
- Review engineering drawings, isometrics, material certificates, and consumable certificates.
- Investigate welding defects, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Project Coordination & Technical Support
- Collaborate with QA/QC teams, site engineers, fabrication teams, and third‑party inspectors.
- Provide technical guidance to welders, supervisors, and construction teams to ensure high‑quality workmanship.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding quality, productivity, and safety.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate welding records, logs, inspection reports, and traceability documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project quality plans, ITPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, technical reviews, and client meetings as required.
Competencies & Skills
- Strong command of welding metallurgy, NDT methods, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work in demanding onshore/offshore environments while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Work Environment
Onshore Operations
- Work performed at fabrication yards, refineries, petrochemical plants, and major construction sites.
- Exposure to welding, cutting, lifting operations, heavy machinery, and high‑temperature environments.
- Tasks may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or in areas requiring strict safety controls.
Team Collaboration
- Daily coordination with QA/QC personnel, welding supervisors, NDT technicians, site engineers, and project managers.
- Regular interaction with client representatives, third‑party inspectors, and certification bodies.
- Participation in technical meetings, quality reviews, and site audits.

- Strict adherence to company HSE policies and project‑specific safety plans.
- Mandatory use of PPE such as flame‑resistant clothing, helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
