Position Title: Welding Technical Instructor

Job Purpose
The Welding Technical Instructor is responsible for elevating the technical proficiency of trainees by delivering expert instruction in advanced welding techniques. The role is critical to producing skilled welders capable of performing precision work in defense manufacturing and aircraft structural repair. The instructor ensures all training strictly adheres to international aerospace and military welding standards, contributing directly to the structural integrity and operational readiness of defense assets.
Job Accountabilities
- Deliver comprehensive hands-on training on industrial welding techniques Stick (SMAW), MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and FCAW with emphasis on defense manufacturing and aircraft structural repair applications.
- Conduct rigorous practical examinations and assess trainee competencies in accordance with AWS and ISO.
- Continuously update training materials to incorporate the latest advancements in welding and joining technologies relevant to aerospace and defense.
- Exercise strict supervisory control over the welding workshop, ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations and quality assurance protocols.
- Guide trainees through the process of qualifying welding procedures and achieving personal welder qualifications per applicable standards.
- Maintain workshop equipment, ensure calibration of welding machines, and document all training outcomes and assessments.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Welding Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required. A Bachelor's degree is plus.
- Experience: hands-on experience in industrial welding techniques (Stick, MIG, TIG, FCAW), specifically within aerospace, defense, or military manufacturing sectors, including experience in weld quality inspection and reading specialized technical schematics for aircraft and armored vehicle structures.
- Certifications: A valid Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required. WPQ1 (Welder Performance Qualification Level 1) certification is preferred.
