Job Description
Providing the necessary expertise and technical advice to all relevant departments on wildlife programmes, preparing action plans and studies in the field of developing management plans and programmes for nature reserves, and implementing various environmental awareness programmes in accordance with the Authority's action plans and strategic guidelines.
- Preparing quarterly and annual basic work plans for the department in the field of biodiversity and protected areas, following up on the implementation and development of work plans for the protection of biodiversity in the emirate, supporting human resources, and managing the activities and programmes implemented by the Authority in this field.
- Prepare studies in the field of developing and implementing administrative plans and programmes for nature reserves in line with international best practices.
- Follow up and coordinate with federal authorities and committees concerned with biodiversity and nature reserves, including the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and provide the necessary technical support for the development and implementation of relevant national strategies, as well as relevant strategies and policies approved by the Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority.
- Support the implementation and development of various environmental awareness programmes and sustainable ecotourism programmes and activities in nature reserves and wilderness areas, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant department of the administration.
- Prepare national reports for relevant multilateral environmental agreements (Convention on Biological Diversity, Ramsar, CMS, CITES, etc.) and follow up on implementation programmes at the emirate level.
- Submitting the necessary proposals in the field of environmental protection and contributing to the development of deterrent laws for anyone who dares to harm our natural environment.
- Preparing periodic reports on all activities and work and identifying key issues, proposals and recommendations for improving and developing the work.
- Performing all assigned tasks and responsibilities in accordance with the information security and confidentiality policy adopted by the department and within the limits of the powers granted.
- Performing any other tasks related to the nature of the work as assigned.
