I.JOB SUMMARY

The Wood Polisher is responsible for maintaining, restoring, and polishing all wooden surfaces and furniture within the hotel to ensure they remain in excellent condition, enhancing the overall appearance and guest experience. The role requires attention to detail and skill in handling various wood treatment and finishing techniques.

II.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To polish, sand & refinish wooden furniture, panelling, doors & fixtures in the hotel property.
  • To apply protective coatings, varnishes, stains, and oils to preserve wood surfaces.
  • To inspect wooden items regularly for scratches, cracks, or other damage and perform necessaryrepairs or refinishing.
  • To clean wooden surfaces carefully to remove dirt, dust, & old polish residues.
  • To maintain and organize wood polishing tools, equipment, and materials.
  • To collaborate with the engineering & housekeeping teams to schedule & prioritize polishing tasks.
  • To assist in refurbishing or restoring antique or specialty wooden furniture as required.
  • To follow all safety procedures related to handling chemicals & tools used in wood finishing.
  • To report any major damage or replacement needs to the supervisor promptly.
  • To maintain work area cleanliness and ensure proper disposal of polishing materials waste.
  • To attend training sessions on new polishing techniques or materials.
  • To perform other related duties assigned by the Supervisor or Housekeeping Manager.

  • Quality and consistency of wood finishing and polishing work.
  • Maintenance of wood surfaces to enhance hotel aesthetics and guest satisfaction.
  • Proper handling and storage of polishing materials and tools.
  • Adherence to safety and environmental standards during polishing activities.

  • Completion rate of scheduled polishing and maintenance work.
  • Guest and management feedback on wood surface condition.
  • Incidence of damage or need for rework on polished surfaces.
  • Compliance with safety guidelines and chemical handling protocols.
