Description:
The Woodwork Engineer is responsible for the engineering, coordination, and execution of woodwork and joinery works for construction and interior fit-out projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in wood engineering and proven experience in GCC countries, ensuring high-quality delivery in compliance with project specifications, drawings, and local standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings and detailed woodwork/joinery drawings.
- Supervise and monitor woodwork fabrication and installation activities on-site.
- Ensure all wood engineering works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Prepare material submittals, method statements, and technical documents related to woodwork.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues related to joinery and wood finishes.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality requirements, and HSE standards.
- Coordinate factory production schedules and site installation programs.
- Assist in quantity take-offs, material estimation, and cost control for woodwork works.
- Participate in inspections, snag clearance, and final handover.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Wood Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 58 years of experience in woodwork/joinery, with mandatory GCC experience.
- Strong background in wood engineering, joinery works, and interior fit-out projects.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or mixed-use projects within the GCC.
