We are industry veterans with experience spanning over 20 years each and specialize in building out websites, mobile apps, custom digital platforms, digital marketing programs, Alexa skills, etc. We are looking for a front-end web engineer with significant, senior-level experience building complex sites and applications on the WordPress platform to help with projects for multiple clients.

Job Brief:

We are looking for a highly skilled Front-End Engineer to join our team and act as the primary developer for web projects built on WordPress and Elementor, hosted on WP Engine. This role blends deep WordPress expertise with modern front-end engineering practices, ensuring our site is fast, scalable, accessible, and beautifully crafted. The ideal candidate is both a creative problem-solver and a meticulous implementersomeone who can take design files (Figma), build them pixel-perfect in Elementor and/or custom code, extend WordPress when needed, and also contribute to React/Next.js components and TailwindCSS-based interfaces.

This is a hands-on development role with opportunities to help shape our front-end standards, performance best practices, and reusable component systems.

What You Will Do:

WordPress & Elementor Development

• Develop responsive, accessible, and high-quality WordPress pages/templates using Elementor (Pro preferred).
• Customize Elementor widgets, templates, global styles, and theme settings.
• Build custom themes or child themes when Elementor alone is insufficient.
• Implement custom PHP logic within WordPress (functions, hooks, filters, custom post types).
• Manage WP Engine deployments, configurations, environments, and performance tools.
• Integrate third-party plugins and APIs as needed.

Front-End Engineering

• Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Build reusable components and UI patterns in React or Next.js when the project requires modern interactive elements.
• Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, and Lighthouse scores.
• Ensure cross-browser, cross-device, accessibility (WCAG 2.1), and responsive accuracy.
• Work closely with designers to implement pixel-perfect UI from Figma or similar tools.

Architecture & Quality

• Contribute to decisions around WordPress architecture, plugin selection, and theme structure.
• Maintain code quality through version control (Git), PR reviews, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot issues related to WordPress, PHP, plugins, hosting, caching, etc.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality work.

We Should Talk If You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in Front-end Web Development on the WordPress platform
• Experience with Wordpress-specific integrations
• Desire to learn new technologies and evolve skill set
• Experience maintaining code via software development version control platforms (GitHub, BitBucket,etc)
• Experience managing tasks/work effort via agile (Jira experience a plus)

WordPress & Elementor Expertise

• Deep, hands-on experience building websites using WordPress and Elementor.
• Ability to write custom PHP for WordPress themes, functions, hooks, and integrations.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, WP Query, REST API, custom fields, and plugin ecosystem.
• Experience working within WP Engine environmentsperformance rules, caching, deployments.

Front-End Engineering Skills

• Strong proficiency in HTML5, modern CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with TailwindCSS or similar utility-first frameworks.
• Experience building React or Next.js components.
• Strong understanding of responsive design, component-driven development, and web performance optimization.
• Familiarity with design-to-dev workflows (Figma, Zeplin, etc.).

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience building custom Elementor widgets.
• Experience with headless WordPress or hybrid WordPress/React architectures.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices.
• Experience with testing tools (Playwright, Cypress, or Jest).
• Familiarity with accessibility audits and remediation.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows.
