SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to provide mentorship to students on issues related to their academic progress and assist them with planning their courses and overcome any educational challenges they may face.
SECTION II: RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Academic Advisory
- Works closely with the colleges in order to provide accurate information on course offerings as per the university policies and procedures
- Consults regularly with faculty on the most up-to-date information on course offerings, other special programs, or supplemental programs
- Acts as relevant mediator between Dean/Associate Dean/College Director and Student issues
- Delivers orientation and training sessions to new student on effective course planning and registration
- Encodes course schedules and enters the schedule into the registration system before the beginning of the semester
- Identifies current and potential student needs or problem areas (i.e study plan, curriculum and academic issues) and refers students to respective or designated person to assist with further development
- Assists existing students with course planning and registration at the opening of the semester
- Helps students define and develop realistic educational career plans through schedule planning for each semester
- Encourages students in planning a program consistent with their abilities and interests
- Discusses and reinforces linkages and relationships between their plan and career options
Reports/Documentation
- Audits and examines academic progress of students and determines satisfactory progress towards degree completion
- Reports audits to the college Dean and Assistant Provost for challenging cases
- Assigning Proctors for Examinations and Proctoring Exams
- Assigning Classrooms for Examinations

Minimum Educational Qualifications Required For The Role
Bachelor's degree
Master's Degree in business or related field preferred
Minimum Years Of Experience Required
3- 5 years of experience in a related field
Nature Of Relevant Experience Required
Higher education institution
Language - Skills
English is required
Arabic is preferred
Special Skills And Abilities
Problem-solving, management, coordination, communication, diplomacy, good interaction with people, use of Peoplesoft, blackboard, and counselling skills
