We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team in a leading construction company. The ideal candidate will manage financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide insightful reporting to support business decisions. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of our projects and operations as we continue to grow in the industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses to support management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax requirements.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to align financial resources with project goals.
- Monitor financial transactions and identify discrepancies in accounts.
- Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial performance and suggest areas for improvement.
- Perform audits of internal controls and recommend improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
- Provide support during external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain accounting software and systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of construction accounting practices and contract management is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial analysis tools.
