Job Purpose
The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations across
accounts payable and general accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely
financial reporting. The role leads a small team, strengthens internal controls, and drives process
efficiency while supporting month-end close and financial governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Oversight:
- Supervise end-to-end accounting activities including accounts payable, invoice processing, reconciliations, and ledger management.
- Review and validate accounting entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Oversee three-way matching (PO, GRN, Invoice) and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure proper maintenance of vendor and financial master data with appropriate controls.
Payments, Controls & Reconciliations:
- Oversee payment cycles, ensuring alignment with cash flow planning and approval matrices.
- Review vendor reconciliations and ensure timely closure of outstanding balances and disputes.
- Monitor AP aging and key financial indicators, ensuring risks are identified and addressed proactively.
- Strengthen internal controls across accounting processes to minimize risk and ensure audit readiness.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:
- Lead month-end closing activities including accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review schedules and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with Finance, Tax, and Audit teams to ensure compliance with VAT and regulatory
requirements.
- Support preparation of financial reports and analysis for management review.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Supervise, guide, and develop accounting team members, ensuring workload distribution and
performance standards
- Provide coaching and support to enhance team capability and accountability.
- Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (Procurement, Operations, Finance) on
accounting matters.
- Ensure alignment between Finance policies and operational requirements.
Process Improvement & Governance:
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control
- Track and report key accounting KPIs (processing timelines, accuracy, aging, etc.).
- Support automation and system enhancements within ERP environments.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6–9 years of accounting experience with exposure to AP and general accounting • Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT and compliance requirements • Experience in fast-paced or high-volume environments
- ERP systems experience (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or equivalent) • Advanced Excel skills (reporting, reconciliations, data analysis)
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills • High attention to detail and ownership mindset • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Effective communication across finance and non-finance teams
