Lux Actuaries & Consultants is an independent actuarial consultancy with local presence in multiple locations in the Middle East, Africa & Europe. We are looking for an enthusiastic Actuarial Intern to join our Lux team in Dubai. Our UAE practice contains actuarial professionals with diverse exposure across geographies and disciplines. We are the first company in the MENA region certified by the Quality Assurance Scheme of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries UK. You will work alongside these experienced professionals on both client engagements and internal development projects, including pricing, reserving, IFRS17 and modelling. You will also gain exposure and opportunities to learn about other innovative propositions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting and working on various product development, pricing, modelling and reserving projects
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to clients
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and financial reporting requirements
  • Provide support in research and development

Requirements:

Essential:

  • 1 to 3 exam passes from the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA or R and tools such as Tableau and Alteryx
  • Self-motivation to achieve actuarial qualification, with demonstrated, consistent progress.
  • Assumption setting and projection models for multiple purposes including pricing, business forecast, reporting and/ or embedded value
  • Product development, product design, pricing across multiple lines of business
  • Self-motivation to achieve actuarial qualification, with demonstrated, consistent progress.
