About the Job:

The jobholder is developing and managing all documentation, policies, procedures, and compliance aspects of energy management. He/she will ensure that these elements are mature, timely, and up-to-date, aligning with the latest industry standards and regulations. As an expert in energy regulations, the advisor provides essential guidance for implementing those regulations to ensure compliance, continuously updates company practices in response to regulatory changes, and develops training programs to educate staff on these updates and bestu00A0practices. The jobholder also responsible maintain operational efficiency, minimizing legal risks, and upholdingu00A0the company's reputation in regulatory adherence to supports the strategic positioning of the company foru00A0sustainable and compliant operations in the maritime sector.

Job Specific Accountabilities Part 1:

u00A0

  • Collect and analyze data on fuel consumption, energy use, and emissions to generate actionable insights and recommendations for improvement and compliance, enhancingndecision-making processes.
  • Prepare and publish reports on compliance status, emission levels, and energy performance usingu00A0effective tools like Power BI and Tableau to improve the accuracy and ease of reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits of fleet and department documentation to ensure accuracy and complianceu00A0with industry standards.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including safety, operations, and commercial teams, to communicateu00A0and promote energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and industry stakeholders to ensureu00A0alignment with current standards and foster continuous improvement.
  • Act as a point of contact for communication and reporting to regulatory bodies, ensuring clearu00A0communication and timely submission of required documentation.
  • Provide strategic advice to the energy management department, backed with data-driven measuresu00A0for continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and predict regulatory changes, staying informed about new and evolving regulations fromu00A0bodies like the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and other relevant authorities.
  • Conduct regular regulatory assessments to identify gaps and implement measures to ensure the organization is prepared to comply with new and evolving regulations.
  • Evaluate the regulatory impact on operational aspects and provide strategic advice to meet standardsu00A0such as the Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI) and Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII).

Job Specific Accountabilities Part 2:

  • Ensure a cohesive approach to compliance planning by developing detailed plans and timelines foru00A0necessary changes to meet new regulations specific to each port, such as EU and UK MRV.
  • Manage the verification and reporting of emissions data to relevant authorities, ensuring datau00A0accuracy and compliance with geographic-specific requirements.
  • Oversee the entire document lifecycle, ensuring all records are current, accurate, complete, andu00A0easily accessible to the audit team.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate relevant personnel on new regulations, energyu00A0efficiency practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop educational materials and tailor training programs to the specific needs of different roles,u00A0promoting knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization.
  • Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and meetings related to energyu00A0optimization and management, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide support for ad-hoc tasks and assist the Team Leader in coordinating the operational activitiesu00A0of the Energy Efficiency & Optimization department.

Minimum Requirements:

u00A0

  • Bacheloru2019s Degree: Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (e.g., Masteru2019s) in a relevant discipline such as Marine Engineering,u00A0Energy Management, or Environmental Science.Knowledge:
  • Relevant Shipping Operations practices and optimization.
  • Developing energy balances and energy efficiency calculations for various types of processes, ships,u00A0and fuels.
  • Energy Management Systems and understanding of applicable requirements and standards.
  • Familiarity with energy-efficient technologies.
  • Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
  • Advanced skills in Power PI and Microsoft Excel for energy performance monitoring, analyses, andu00A0verification.
  • Minimum Experience: 5 years in energy management, with significant advisory experience in theu00A0maritime industry. Proven expertise in providing strategic advice and leading energy optimizationu00A0initiatives.
  • Regulatory Expertise: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement long-term energy optimizationu00A0plans. Experience with regulatory compliance and risk management in the maritime industry. strategicu00A0advisory roles and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic thinking and advisory skills. Ability to develop and implementu00A0strategic plans that align with company goals and drive continuous improvement.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complexu00A0data and regulations. Proficiency in using data analytics tools to drive decision-making.
  • Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage andu00A0influence stakeholders at all levels. Effective presentation skills and the ability to write detailedu00A0technical reports.
  • Proficiency: Proficiency in energy management software and tools. Familiarity with data analyticsu00A0and project management tools.

Professional Certifications
