Role Overview
As AGM Buying, you will independently manage assigned categories, driving business growth, margin optimization, and product relevance. This is a strategic role requiring strong market insight and leadership capability.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Category Management: Exercise full ownership of the buying cycle, from seasonal planning through to in-season execution and management.
- Financial Performance: Drive results for the assigned categories
- Strategic Planning: Prepare seasonal assortment plans, range frameworks, and option counts aligned with financial targets and brand identity.
- Buying Strategy: Execute strategies covering product mix, pricing architecture, margin delivery, and inventory productivity.
- Global Sourcing: Proactively develop sourcing opportunities beyond India to improve product differentiation, speed-to-market, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborative Development: Partner closely with Buyers and Graphic Designers to translate customer insights and trends into commercially viable, cohesive assortments.
- Vendor Management: Oversee the vendor base, including selection, onboarding, negotiations, costing, MOQ management, and delivery adherence.
- Commercial Negotiation: Secure target margins while maintaining strict quality, compliance, and ethical sourcing standards.
- Trade Analysis: Monitor sales, stock levels, intake margins, and sell-through; implement corrective in-season actions to optimize performance.
- Supply Chain Partnership: Collaborate with Planning and Supply Chain teams on OTB management, buy quantities, and replenishment strategies.
- Calendar Discipline: Ensure strict adherence to critical path calendars for timely product delivery across all seasons.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Manage and develop the team, setting clear objectives and building internal bench strength.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of trade dynamics, competitor landscapes, and evolving customer behavior.
