Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Senior AI Business and Technical Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between university departments and technical teams, ensuring that AI-empowered systems and platforms meet the needs of students, faculty, staff, and administrators. They analyze operational and support processes, identify problems and pain points, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications to enhance system functionality, improve academic and support operational efficiency, and support the institution's operation excellence goals. They are also responsible for managing the deployment, technical operations and support, and effective use of platforms and systems. This role combines a deep understanding of academic and support workflows with technical expertise to ensure smooth integration, adoption, and performance of AI-driven solutions across units.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency in workflows.
  • Recommend AI-driven solutions to improve teaching, learning, operations, and administration.
  • Monitor emerging technologies to guide system development.
  • Ensure system design supports scalability and future university needs.
  • Document workflows, processes, and pain points to inform system designers.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure requirements are feasible.
  • Review and validate prototypes with academic and support staff to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain clear records of requirements, feedback, and decisions for the project.
  • Support testing and quality assurance to ensure the system meets user needs.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day technical operations of the platforms and systems.
  • Conduct functional testing of applications and collaborate with the technical team to enhance system usability, accessibility, and alignment with academic and support needs
  • Ensure smooth integration with institutional management systems and other educational and support technologies.
  • Coordinate with IT and platform vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with academic and support departments to identify specific operation, support, teaching, learning, and assessment needs.
  • Translate requirements into technical specifications for the development team.
  • Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students to ensure seamless usage of the systems.
  • Deliver training workshops, guides, and best practices for effective use of educational tools.
  • Empower staff, faculty and departments to maximize the potential of the systems.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of the systems, user experience, and outcomes.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders, analyze trends, and escalate issues to the relevant teams.
  • Prepare reports on adoption, impact, and areas for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary contact between academic and support departments and the system provider.
  • Communicate requirements, updates, and issues effectively across both academic, support and technical domains.
  • Adhere to the University's information security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and report breaches or other security risks accordingly
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment and practice to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Line Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field. Master's or higher degree preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience with Learning Management Systems and other educational technologies.
