We are seeking a proficient AIX OS Administrator to join our talented team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining AIX operating system environments, ensuring their stability, security, and optimal performance.

Requirements

  • Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems and associated software
  • Perform routine system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning
  • Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and security policies
  • Implement patches, updates, and system upgrades to maintain security and compliance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to AIX servers
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans
  • Automate system administration tasks using shell scripting or other automation tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure enhancements
  • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies, security standards, and best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience administering AIX operating systems in enterprise environments
  • Strong knowledge of AIX OS architecture, commands, file systems, and networking
  • Experience with storage management, LPARs, and virtualization on Power Systems
  • Familiarity with IBM Power Systems hardware and related infrastructure
  • Proficiency in shell scripting (ksh/bash) for automating tasks
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Relevant IBM or AIX certifications are a plus
