We are currently recruiting an Analyst - Open-Source Database (Observability & Automation) for our client based in Dubai, UAE for a Period of 12 Months.

Job Summary:

This role will deliver endtoend monitoring, performance intelligence, and automation across enterprise database platforms. The role focuses on designing, building, and automating observability capabilities for both opensource and legacy databases. You will enable early performancerisk detection, support datadriven operational decisions, and ensure high system availability and operational continuity.

Job Responsibilities

1. Database Observability & Performance Monitoring

Design and implement deep-dive monitoring for multi-platform databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
Analyze slow queries, wait events, and system resource usage to identify performance bottlenecks.
Detect performance degradation proactively before it impacts end-users.
Recommend indexing, query optimization, and performance improvements in collaboration with development teams.

2. Log Aggregation & Analytics

Manage centralized logging environments using the ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana).
Ingest, parse, and correlate database logs to track error patterns, access behavior, and security events.
Create analytics reports that link database events to application layer behaviors.

3. Dashboarding & Automation

Build real-time dashboards in Grafana, Power BI, and Tableau to visualize latency, throughput, and system uptime.
Automate observability and analytics workflows using Python, Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
Utilize Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and data collection pipelines.

4. Operational Support

Conduct daily system health checks to ensure optimal analytics and monitoring performance.
Provide operational support for dashboarding and monitoring-related issues.
Perform patching and minor version upgrades with minimal downtime.

5. Documentation

Document procedures, configurations, troubleshooting steps, and incident reports.
Prepare and maintain high-level design documents and architecture references using tools like Confluence.

Job Requirements:

3-5 years relevant experience.
Proficiency in ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Ansible, Power BI, Tableau.
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Experience with RHEL/Windows Server and RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
Preferred industry background: Aviation, Telecom, Banking, Transport.

Certifications / Tool Expertise
