Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women's and children's hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics &

Gynecology, and Women's Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This

has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

This role involves assisting anesthesiologists in the care of patients preparing for and receiving anaesthesia. Responsibilities include patient assessment, administration of procedural sedation, monitoring patients, and overseeing their recovery in compliance with DOH/DHA and M42 standards. Additionally, the role entails preparing for anaesthesia procedures by maintaining equipment, cleaning, packaging, ordering, and managing the inventory of anaesthesia supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Assists anesthesiologists in assessing patients and administering procedural sedation and anaesthesia.
  • Monitors patients during sedation/anesthesia and oversees their recovery in both routine and emergency situations.
  • Supports routine surgical cases by preparing and maintaining patient equipment and anaesthesia delivery systems.
  • Prepares anaesthesia supplies by sterilizing, disinfecting, packaging, and managing inventory both preoperatively and postoperatively.
  • Performs first-level maintenance and troubleshooting on anaesthesia equipment.
  • Maintains an inventory of anesthesia equipment, tracking repairs, loans, and quality control for returned items.
  • Complies with all relevant policies and guidelines related to anaesthesia practices and safety.

Qualifications

  • Anesthesia Technician program (minimum 2-year course duration) with an active DOH license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in related field and knowledge of anaesthesia procedure and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, with a focus on continuous professional development.
