Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Alexandria, Egypt, for an Application Security Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for safeguarding software and application systems by identifying security vulnerabilities, performing security assessments, and implementing security protocols. Day-to-day tasks include conducting code reviews, collaborating with development teams to design secure software solutions, optimizing security measures during the software development life cycle, and implementing solutions for emerging threats. The Application Security Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with international security standards and assisting in incident response planning and execution.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in application security concepts, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing tools.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Strong knowledge of web application security, API security, and cloud security technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards like OWASP, ISO 27001, and penetration testing methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or OSCP are a plus.
  • Experience in incident response and cybersecurity tools is highly advantageous.
