Role overviewThe Arabic Teacher will deliver highquality Arabic language instruction to
both native and nonnative speakers, often within
multigrade classeswhere students of different ages, stages, and language profiles may learn together. In the lower years, native and nonnative Arabic speakers will be taught in the same class, requiring strong differentiation skills and flexible planning. In older years, classes may be separated by language profile depending on student numbers, though combined classes may still be required.
Arabic is a national subject in Saudi Arabia, and the role requires careful alignment of the
Saudi national curriculum objectiveswithin the school's
International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and philosophy.
Keyresponsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Arabic lessons for native and nonnative speakers across a range of ages and abilities
- Differentiate effectivelywithin multigrade classes to ensure ageand gradelevel objectives are met
- Develop parallel or differentiated planning where native and nonnative learners are taught within the same class
- Align Arabic teaching with Saudi national requirements while embedding IB approaches to teaching and learning
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, including homeroom teachers
- Contribute flexibly to the wider life of the school as needs evolve
