Role Description
An Architect is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing architectural projects from concept through completion. The role works closely with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project teams to deliver functional, attractive, safe, and compliant designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop architectural concepts, layouts, plans, elevations, and detailed drawings.
- Translate client requirements and project objectives into practical design solutions.
- Prepare and review architectural drawings, specifications, schedules, and documentation.
- Coordinate architectural designs with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, surveys, inspections, and design assessments.
- Review shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and construction details.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
- Identify design conflicts, technical issues, construction defects, and required modifications.
- Monitor architectural works to ensure quality and compliance with approved designs.
- Respond to RFIs, technical queries, change requests, and site-related issues.
- Support authority submissions, permits, approvals, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare design presentations, project reports, inspection records, and technical documents.
- Support value engineering, sustainable design, and cost-effective architectural solutions.
- Maintain design quality, functionality, aesthetics, safety, and overall project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Relevant experience in architectural design, construction, consulting, or project development.
- Strong knowledge of architectural principles, construction methods, materials, and detailing.
- Experience preparing drawings, specifications, layouts, and construction documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D Max, or similar design software.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and authority requirements.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with structural, MEP, civil, and other technical disciplines.
- Strong creative, technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and design quality.
- Good communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant architectural tools.
