Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Chef at The Littlest Lamb Orphanage, located in Qesm El Obour. The Assistant Chef will support the Head Chef in daily food preparation and cooking for children and staff, ensuring meals are nutritious, varied, and cater to dietary needs. Responsibilities include food inventory management, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen, assisting in meal planning, and collaborating with staff to create a positive dining experience. The Assistant Chef will also help teach basic cooking skills to children as part of the orphanage's life skills program.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation, cooking, and assisting in menu planning
• Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
• Ability to manage food inventory and minimize waste
• Teamwork and communication skills for collaboration with the kitchen staff
• Experience in child-centered environments is a plus
• Basic knowledge of nutrition and diverse culinary practices
• Willingness to mentor children in basic cooking and kitchen skills
• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is a plus
• Fluency in Arabic and proficiency in English is advantageous
