Job Description

Reports to: Director of Egyptian Governmental Relations

Purpose:

This role will manage the daily operations of the Office of the Counselor and ensure the successful execution of strategic engagements, high-profile events, and university- wide projects involving governmental and educational stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaison and Regulatory Monitoring: Facilitate seamless coordination between university departments and Egyptian governmental or educational bodies to synchronize joint initiatives while monitoring emerging regulatory policies that impact institutional operations and maintaining an updated registry of key national stakeholders
  • Project and High-Profile Event Execution: Direct the planning and management of university-wide projects and high-profile events involving senior governmental representatives, ensuring all logistical, protocol, and hospitality requirements are met to maintain the university's professional image and preparing comprehensive impact assessments for senior leadership
  • Institutional Advisory and Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert guidance to internal offices on governmental interaction protocols and manages critical regulatory processes, including academic degree accreditation with the Supreme Council of Universities and research data collection approvals with CAPMAS to mitigate administrative risks
  • Governmental Engagement and Advocacy: Engage with ministries and national authorities to advance office priorities, identify new partnership opportunities, and support the implementation of strategic governmental engagement goals as directed by the Counselor by drafting official advocacy briefs and position statements
  • Operational Leadership and Communication Management: Oversee the daily administrative functions of the office, including the management of formal correspondence with the Government of Egypt to ensure accuracy and compliance while directing the office budget and procurement activities to ensure resource efficiency
  • General Administrative Support: Perform other administrative duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Professional post graduate diploma in management is an asset
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the administrative support field

Technical Skills:

  • Communication: Complete fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Excellent overall communication skills
  • Interpersonal and Initiative: Excellent interpersonal management skills
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and make independent judgments
  • Organizational and Execution: Extremely well organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple, competing priorities under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Technical Proficiency: Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel, as well as familiarity with SAP
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive materials and situations
