Job Summary (Purpose & Scope of Position)
The Assistant Golf Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of all Golf Operations sub-departments at Emirates Golf Club. This role focuses on delivering high-quality corporate and club golf tournaments, ensuring seamless operations, exceptional guest satisfaction, and a consistent premium club experience. The position also supports leadership, staff coordination, member engagement, and operational excellence across the golf facility.
Key Responsibilities
1. Club Atmosphere & Image
- Support the development of a club environment that reflects the Emirates Golf Club brand and differentiates it from competitors.
- Maintain a professional, welcoming, and servicefocused atmosphere for members and guests.
2. Golf Tournament Management
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and delivering corporate and club tournaments.
- Work closely with the Golf Experience Manager, Tournament Coordinator, and Golf Operations Administrator.
- Oversee tournament functions including scoring, Golf Genius, event setup, prize presentations, press releases, and results posting.
- Ensure tournaments meet high service standards and run smoothly.
3. Intern Management
- Supervise, coach, and mentor interns.
- Handle onboarding, goal-setting, performance check-ins, and overall development of interns.
- Support team bonding and professional integration.
4. Member Engagement
- Develop a strong understanding of membership categories, fees, policies, and benefits.
- Assist members and potential members with queries.
- Help new members integrate by explaining tournament schedules, booking systems, and club programs.
5. Duty Manager Responsibilities
- Participate in Duty Manager shifts.
- Oversee golf operations when the Director of Golf Operations is unavailable.
6. Consumables Management
- Monitor and control consumable stock levels for Golf Operations.
- Maintain accurate tracking and reporting tools for consumable usage.
7. Handicap Committee
- Serve as an active member of the Emirates Golf Club Handicap Committee.
8. Golf Operations Meetings
- Conduct weekly Golf Operations meetings with supervisors, managers, and administrators.
- Ensure clear communication, transparency, and timely sharing of meeting minutes.
9. Operational Tasks
- Review and monitor tee sheets 11+ days ahead for fair distribution and maximum utilization.
- Complete assignments as directed by the Director of Golf Operations.
- Assist in daily operations and maintain high service standards.
10. Golf Calendar Development
- Prepare the Summer and Winter Golf Calendars.
- Coordinate and distribute calendars following approval from the Director of Golf.
11. Leadership & Mentorship
- Provide leadership to the Golf Operations team through open communication, one-on-ones, coaching, and continuous development.
- Promote teamwork and professional growth.
12. Scheduling & Leave Management
- Create weekly and monthly staff schedules ensuring fair distribution and adequate coverage.
- Prepare annual leave plans in accordance with HR policies.
13. Golf Tournament Financials
- Manage and maintain tournament profit & loss reports.
- Track event financials and highlight variances or opportunities for improvement.
14. 59Club Results Monitoring
- Review service performance indicators for internal and external service teams.
- Suggest improvements and report updates to the Director of Golf.
15. Communications
- Draft and distribute official communications for members and guests as needed.
16. Reporting & Documentation
- Ensure accurate reporting related to inventory, rental sets, buggies, procurement, maintenance, and other operational data.
17. Banqueting & Events Coordination
- Attend F&B and event planning meetings.
- Coordinate golf event requirements with the banqueting team.
18. Revenue Monitoring
- Support tracking of rounds, revenue performance, and recommend growth initiatives.
19. Asset Management
- Oversee the maintenance and management of golf operations assets including carts, trolleys, range furniture, digital screens, iPads, tournament equipment, etc.
20. Member & Guest Feedback
- Assist with handling complaints and feedback.
- Ensure timely solutions and follow-ups.
21. Tournament Manual Maintenance
- Keep the Golf Tournament Manual updated with new procedures and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Sports Management, Business, or related field (preferred).
Experience
- 35 years in golf operations, customer service, or event management.
- Experience in planning or managing corporate and club golf tournaments (required).
Skills
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask.

- Knowledge of golf operations, tee sheets, event setup, and tournament procedures.
