Job Purpose:

  • Assist with daily diving operations under the guidance of the Manager Dive Operations. Work collaboratively with teams of divers in the execution of underwater work including exhibit maintenance, animal husbandry support, life support inspections, and guest program activities.
  • Assist with diving tasks to have them safely performed, with efficiently, and in compliance with Corallium's Dive Safety Manual and international standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Duties

  • Assist with managing Operations Divers during daily exhibit dives, performing tasks in a safe and effective manner.
  • Conduct dive briefings, debriefings, and safety checks before and after each operation.
  • Monitor diver performance, providing coaching and mentoring to build skills.
  • Assist with training and certification programs for divers.
  • Perform in-water tasks such as exhibit cleaning, animal feeding, collections, and system inspections.
  • Assist with inspecting, maintaining, and logging diving equipment to standards.
  • Support emergency drills and participate in incident response as needed.
  • Maintain accurate dive logs, reports, and compliance documentation.

Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports

  • Follow relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Apply safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of department's systems, processes and practices considering international best practice, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional/commercial diving certification (AAUS, IMCA, ADAS, or equivalent).
  • 57 years diving experience, including supervisory or lead diver responsibilities.
  • Experience in aquarium, scientific, or commercial diving operations.

Skills:

  • Strong in-water diving skills and technical competence.
  • Supervisory ability with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of dive safety standards, physiology, and risk management.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Job Context:

  • Role requires frequent in-water work and supervision of divers.
  • Exposure to high-risk underwater environments, chemicals, and confined spaces.
  • Requires availability for shifts, weekends, and emergencies.
