Responsibilities:
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of the U.S. marketplace for key commodities (ie. IT related products and services, Labor & Consulting etc)
- Should be able to develop sourcing strategies and negotiation strategies for assigned services and commodities.
- Identifying sourcing objectives and anticipated end state, predict results that will realize cost reductions, quality improvements and process changes.
- Determine needs of internal customer / line of business, and incorporate that information into the appropriate statements of work to support competitive bidding and contract completion.
- Ensure contracts include appropriate vendor performance requirements, key performance measures, vendor reporting requirements, and service level requirements.
- Has working knowledge of US contract law, and have the ability to coordinate with Legal and internal customers.
- Negotiation of contract changes and extensions.
- Strong supplier management skills.
- Strong negotiating, persuasion & influence skills.
Qualifications:
- Graduate or Diploma holders with at least 15 years of education.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills – Written and spoken (English).
- Self driven and result oriented.
- Proven analytical and research skills.
- Ability to document due diligence on sourcing events such as pricing, internal reviews, vendor capacity, vendor financial status, and vendor selection.
- Must work well in a team environment, while being individually responsible for the project management and results.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, sourcing controls, and low-risk contracting.
- Experience with Zip and Ariba platforms.
- Commercial and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and documentation workflows.
- Sound judgment in risk identification and escalation.
- Clear written communication and disciplined documentation practices.
Work Experience Requirements:
- 5-7 years of RELEVANT working experience in procurement sourcing, with a preference for specific commodity experience as required.
- Consideration also given to individuals with significant technical experience in the fields of Consulting, IT, Facilities & Property management, Marketing and Advertising.
- Cross-functional team leadership.
- Experience in supplier management and contract compliance.
