Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance

Department: Institutional Effectiveness

Reports To: Senior Manager, Quality Management

Role Summary

The Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance, supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of HCT's quality management framework. The role ensures effective integration of quality standards across the institution, drives audit and compliance processes, and fosters a culture of evidence-based decision-making, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance, plays a key role in advancing institutional quality assurance and effectiveness. The role contributes to the design and implementation of quality management systems, oversees internal audits, supports accreditation readiness, and ensures compliance with external regulatory requirements and institutional standards. In addition, the role promotes institutional learning by embedding continuous improvement practices, professional development, and the effective management of policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of HCT's quality management framework, ensuring alignment with international best practices and UAE accreditation requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate internal quality audits across academic and administrative functions as part of the Institutional Effectiveness audit cycle.
  • Monitor performance indicators, analyze institutional effectiveness data, and prepare reports with evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to departments in developing action plans to address audit findings and enhance performance.
  • Contribute to accreditation preparation and compliance activities, ensuring documentation, evidence, and reports meet external quality assurance standards.
  • Benchmark institutional practices against sector standards and recommend improvements to strengthen quality culture.
  • Design and deliver professional development programs to raise awareness of HCT's quality framework, standards, and expectations.
  • Oversee the automation and effective use of the Policies and Procedures Management System to support transparency, accessibility, and compliance.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to staff in relation to both quality assurance processes and the use of the management system.
  • Develop educational materials, presentations, and digital storytelling outputs to communicate audit outcomes, quality insights, and institutional achievements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management, institutional effectiveness, audit, or compliance, preferably in higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance standards, accreditation regulations for higher education in the UAE, and policy development.
  • Demonstrated experience in institutional auditing, compliance, and accreditation support.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in digital systems, data visualization tools, and process automation.
  • Experience in training, facilitation, and professional development preferred.
