Job Description

The Assistant Resident Engineer will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of the QXY Project by providing support to the Resident Engineer. This position involves managing and supervising road and infrastructure works, ensuring that all construction activities adhere to approved plans, technical specifications, and contract requirements. The ARE will work closely with the project team to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety, in line with QCS standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing and managing road and infrastructure works for the QXY Project.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Monitor and enforce QCS standards to maintain the quality and integrity of the project.
  • Review and approve contractor's work, ensuring it meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with various project stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, and consultants, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation related to construction activities and progress.
  • Address and resolve any technical issues or challenges that may arise during construction.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to the Resident Engineer and project management team.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed on-site, and take necessary actions to mitigate risks.
  • Support the Resident Engineer in managing and resolving any contractual or legal matters that may arise.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in road and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
  • Excellent understanding of contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for construction management and documentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic project environment.
  • Valid professional engineering license or eligibility to obtain one.
  • MMUP registration (Mandatory)
