Job Summary
The Audio Visual (AV) Manager at Fairmont Riyadh is responsible for leading all audio-visual operations across the hotel, ensuring exceptional technical support for meetings, conferences, weddings, corporate events, and in-house activities. This role oversees AV planning, setup, execution, maintenance, and team management while upholding Fairmont's standards of excellence, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. AV Operations & Event Delivery
- Oversee daily AV operations for all meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurants, and outdoor venues.
- Conduct pre-event assessments to determine AV requirements based on client expectations and event specifications.
- Lead the setup, calibration, testing, and live operation of audio systems, video displays, projectors, LED walls, lighting rigs, and live streaming equipment.
- Provide onsite technical support during events to ensure seamless client experience.
- Coordinate with Banquet, Events, Sales, and IT teams to ensure flawless execution and service flow.
2. Guest & Client Service Excellence
- Work closely with event planners, wedding coordinators, and corporate clients to translate their AV needs into operational plans.
- Attend pre-con meetings to confirm technical requirements, logistics, and timelines.
- Provide professional recommendations on AV solutions aligned with Fairmont service standards.
- Ensure prompt response to guest requests and technical issues during events.
3. Team Leadership & Training
- Lead, train, schedule, and supervise AV technicians and support staff.
- Conduct regular technical training on equipment operation, safety, and guest service etiquette.
- Perform performance evaluations, development plans, and coaching sessions.
- Ensure team compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and brand standards.
4. Equipment Management & Maintenance
- Maintain an accurate inventory of all AV equipment, cables, tools, and accessories.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs for audio, visual, lighting, and control systems.
- Ensure equipment is always event-readyclean, functional, and safely stored.
- Coordinate repairs or replacements with Engineering and external vendors when necessary.
5. Financial & Administrative Duties
- Prepare and manage the AV department's operating budget, including forecasting and cost control.
- Create AV quotations for events and ensure accurate billing and cost allocation.
- Maintain proper documentation of setups, equipment usage, and event reports.
- Recommend new technologies, upgrades, and improvements that align with evolving guest needs.
6. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all AV operations comply with hotel safety standards and Saudi regulations.
- Train the team on safe use of electrical equipment, rigging, and lifting procedures.
- Monitor work areas to ensure cleanliness, cable safety, and hazard-free setups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Technology, Engineering, Communications, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 36 years of AV experience in luxury hospitality, events, or convention facilities; at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong technical expertise in:
- Digital audio systems & mixers
- Video switching, LED screens, projectors
- Event lighting & DMX control
- Video conferencing platforms
- Live streaming setups
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and client-handling skills.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
- Ability to work long hours, weekends, and event-driven schedules.
- Familiarity with Fairmont/Accor brand standards is a strong advantage.
