Automation Engineer (Maintenance)

The Automation Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous operation of automation systems and equipment within the facility. This role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading automation machinery, PLC systems, robotics, and electrical/electronic controls to minimize downtime and support production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation systems, PLCs, drives and sensors
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues in automated equipment.
• Monitor system performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new automation equipment and software upgrades.
• Maintain and update technical documentation, wiring diagrams, and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Train and support operators and technicians in automation system use and basic troubleshooting.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field.
• Proven experience (2–4 years) in maintenance of automation systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or similar), SCADA/HMI systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, VFDs.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
