Job Description:
The AV&L Show Operator Specialist supports the daily operation of all audios, video, lighting, show-control, and translation systems to ensure smooth and safe show performance. The role assists the Senior Operator, performs pre- and post-show procedures, supports basic troubleshooting and maintenance, and progressively develops the capability to independently operate the show and lead the team when required.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Show Operation & Daily Performance
- Support the Senior Operator in the nightly execution of all show systems, including audio playback and routing, video and projection systems, lighting cues, and show-control timelines.
- Operate the full show independently when required, following approved cue lists, scripts, and operational procedures.
- Perform and document pre-show system checks and post-show shutdown procedures to ensure operational readiness and system integrity.
2. Technical Development & Backup Readiness
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of system architecture, signal flow, and emergency procedures through direct operational involvement.
- Maintain readiness to independently operate the show and assume shift leadership responsibilities when required.
3. Translation & Interpretation System Support
- Maintain working knowledge of the translation system configuration and its integration within the main audio infrastructure.
- Verify channel availability and functionality during pre-show checks.
- Provide first-level technical support for receivers and headsets, escalating complex issues to the Senior Operator or external vendors, as necessary.
4. AV&L Event & Hospitality Support
- Assist in the setup and operation of AV&L systems for hospitality venues, special events, VIP functions, and related activations.
- Ensure systems are restored to standard show configuration following any temporary adjustments.
5. Maintenance & Documentation
- Support routine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities in coordination with the technical team.
- Maintain accurate operational logs, checklists, incident reports, and show documentation.
6. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate effectively with technical staff and operational teams to ensure smooth show execution.
- Liaise with production, site operations, security, and other departments as required.
- Participate in structured shift handovers to maintain operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in Engineering, Media Technology, Sound/Lighting, IT/Networks, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of audio-visual systems, video, lighting, and network infrastructure.
- Quick learner with strong responsibility, attention to detail, and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
- Very good command of English, both spoken and written, to ensure clear communication in a technical and operational environment.
