General Description
Join a large-scale digital transformation program with a leading enterprise organization in the Oil & Gas sector. We are looking for an Azure Data Engineer to support the digitization of plant maintenance systems by designing, building, and managing scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
This role is ideal for a hands-on data engineering professional with strong Azure experience, solid data pipeline expertise, and the ability to collaborate closely with operational, maintenance, and IT teams to deliver reliable and high-performing data platforms.
This is an onsite, long-term contract role based in Abu Dhabi, supporting a critical enterprise transformation initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines on Microsoft Azure
- Develop and manage data integration and orchestration using Azure Data Factory / Data Fusion
- Support data ingestion, transformation, and processing for plant maintenance digitalization initiatives
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and IT stakeholders
- Ensure data quality, reliability, performance, and security in line with enterprise standards
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing data pipelines and workflows
- Contribute to best practices for data engineering, governance, and operational excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
- 45+ years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory / Data Fusion
- Solid understanding of data engineering concepts including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, and data integration
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data sources
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in complex enterprise environments
- Willingness and ability to work onsite in Abu Dhabi, 5 days per week.
Nice to Have / Desirable
- Prior experience in the Oil & Gas or industrial sector
- Exposure to large-scale enterprise or digital transformation projects
- Experience supporting operational, maintenance, or asset management systems
Engagement Details
- Engagement Type: Contract
- Duration: 2-year contract
- Location: Onsite Abu Dhabi (5 days per week)
- Start Date: ASAP or 2 weeks after passing the client interview.
