GoIELTS.ai is the leading AI-powered IELTS prep platform for the GCC

scholarship market. We're hiring a Senior Backend Developer to own

our Laravel APIs, AI evaluation pipelines, and payment infrastructure.

What You'll Do

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

- Build & maintain Laravel (PHP 8.x) REST APIs powering our Next.js 14 frontend

- Integrate & optimize LLM pipelines (GPT-4o, OpenRouter) for Writing/Speaking evaluation

- Design PostgreSQL schemas, indexes & queries (pgvector a plus)

- Own Redis-backed Laravel Queues for AI evaluation workloads

- Build middleware patterns: CostGuard, Cache, Retry, CircuitBreaker, Metrics

- Integrate Stripe, PostHog, n8n, Sentry

- Debug production incidents end-to-end

- Contribute to CI/CD (GitLab Runner) and infrastructure decisions

Must-Have

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

- 4+ years production Laravel (PHP 8.x)

- Strong PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing, query optimization

- Hands-on LLM API integration in production (OpenAI/Anthropic/OpenRouter)

- Redis + Laravel Queues experience

- REST API design for React/Next.js frontends

- Stripe or similar payment gateway integration

- Git, code reviews, CI/CD discipline

- Strong written & spoken English (async remote team)
