Job Purpose:
To provide an exceptional beverage experience by preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold drinks, including specialty coffee, chocolate-based beverages, and teas, in accordance with Al Khozama standards. The Barista is also responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming caf environment, supporting a luxury guest experience .
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation & Service:
- Prepare and serve specialty coffee and chocolate beverages (espresso, cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc.) according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Ensure consistent quality, temperature, and appearance of drinks.
- Offer pairing suggestions with pastries or chocolates to enhance guest experience.
Guest Experience:
- Greet guests with professionalism and warmth.
- Engage with customers to understand their preferences and make personalized recommendations.
- Provide product knowledge on chocolate and coffee selections, including origins, preparation methods, and flavors.
Operational Excellence:
- Set up and close the beverage station each day to ensure readiness and cleanliness.
- Monitor stock levels of beans, chocolate, milk, syrups, and other ingredients; communicate replenishment needs to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar area, equipment, and tools at all times.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations as per Saudi law and Alain Ducasse global standards.
- Handle equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, milk frothers, and blenders with care and according to training.
Team Support:
- Assist colleagues during busy periods to ensure smooth caf operations.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions related to product updates and service standards.
Job Role Specifications (Qualifications):
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Barista certification or specialty coffee training is a strong advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a Barista in a premium caf, hotel, or chocolate lounge environment.
- Previous experience with espresso machines and specialty chocolate beverages is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong passion for coffee and chocolate culture.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail in beverage preparation and presentation.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced, luxury environment.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and order taking.
- Proficiency in English (Arabic or French is a plus).
