Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our Middle East team at a leading Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) manufacturer.

The BESS Sales Manager (Middle East) will be responsible for driving business growth across the GCC and wider MENA energy markets by identifying new opportunities, managing customer relationships, and delivering customised energy storage solutions.

This role requires strong technical and commercial expertise, a solid understanding of the Middle Eastern energy landscape, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Strategy and Market Development

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve growth targets in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, and the wider GCC region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and microgrid projects.
  • Collaborate with local partners, EPCs, utilities, and project developers to expand market presence.
  • Achieve or exceed annual sales targets through proactive customer engagement and strategic account management.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, government entities, utilities (e.g., DEWA, EWEC, SEC), and private sector stakeholders.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored technical and commercial solutions.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication, follow-up, and support.

3. Technical and Market Expertise

  • Stay informed about BESS technologies, GCC renewable energy policies, tenders, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Work with engineering teams to prepare technically sound proposals including system design, configurations, and performance simulations.
  • Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions (e.g., World Future Energy Summit, MEE Dubai), and industry events.

4. Proposal Development and Negotiation

  • Prepare detailed technical and commercial proposals, including cost analysis, financial modeling, and ROI assessments.
  • Lead negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial agreements with clients.
  • Coordinate with internal legal, finance, and engineering teams to finalise project contracts.

5. Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback to support product improvement and strategic planning.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to align sales objectives with overall company strategy.

6. Reporting and Market Analysis

  • Track and report sales performance, project pipeline, and market trends within the MENA region.
  • Analyse competitive activities and provide insights to management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company's CRM system.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • 35 years of experience in energy, renewables, or technology sales, preferably with BESS, solar, or power systems.
  • Strong technical understanding of lithium-ion batteries, inverters, and energy conversion systems.
  • Proven experience managing complex sales cycles and closing high-value deals.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills and Competencies

  • Deep understanding of grid-scale and behind-the-meter storage applications.
  • Knowledge of the Middle Eastern electricity sector, including IPP frameworks, C&I opportunities, and grid connection standards.
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical mindset, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication abilities.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and target-driven; capable of working independently and collaboratively.
