BIM Specialist

Summary

The BIM Specialist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and managing BIM models (LOD 300500) across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. The role ensures accurate information flow and compliance with BIM standards to improve project efficiency and quality from design through handover.

Roles and Responsibilities

* Develop and manage comprehensive BIM models (LOD 300500) in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.

* Produce high-quality drawings and documentation extracted from BIM models, including shop drawings and reports.

* Coordinate BIM models across all disciplines, ensuring full integration and clash-free design.

* Conduct clash detection using Navisworks and issue coordination reports.

* Collaborate with Planning Engineer to develop 4D simulations for visual sequencing and progress monitoring.

* Lead interdisciplinary coordination meetings to address design coordination and constructability issues.

* Implement and enforce BIM standards, templates, and BIM Execution Plan (BEP) compliance.

* Review contractor BIM submissions to ensure compliance with project requirements.

* Manage model-based information to support quantity takeoff, cost estimation, and scheduling.

* Maintain updated documentation and federated models in Common Data Environment platforms.

* Serve as the primary technical support resource for BIM-related inquiries.

* Develop automation scripts (Dynamo, Revit API) to improve modeling efficiency.

* Facilitate BIM training sessions and provide guidance on best practices and software usage.

Required Technical & Soft Skills

* Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

* 47 years of professional BIM experience, with minimum 2 years in Saudi Arabia.

* Multi-disciplinary BIM experience is highly preferred.

* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP) and Navisworks.

* Experience integrating BIM models with construction schedules for 4D visualization.

* Solid knowledge of BIM 360/ACC, BEP, LOD definitions, and ISO 19650.

* Familiarity with construction methods and industry codes (SBC, ACI, ASHRAE, etc.).

* Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Dynamo scripting, and visualization tools is an advantage.

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination abilities.

* Fluency in English and Arabic with strong communication and reporting skills.

* Ability to manage complex models under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
