Job Description

Overall Purpose of Role :

To develop and optimize robotic programs for surface treatment at Lamprell, integrating 3D CAD data with industrial blasting and painting technologies to ensure efficient, high-quality production.

Primary Responsibilities, Authorities & Accountabilities :

Import 3D CAD data of Structures pieces into the off-line programming system.

Define tool data, process parameters, and surface types in the software.

Create, optimize, and simulate robot paths off-line, focusing on full coverage, efficiency, and quality.

Export and transfer finished programs to production robots.

Test and fine-tune robot programs directly on the production line.

Conduct test runs to verify the programming accuracy.

Collaborate with the robot operators to ensure seamless program execution.

Monitor the robot process during operation and respond to deviations or errors.

Cooperate closely with blasters, technicians, engineering team and quality inspectors to ensure safety, efficiency, and product quality.

Monitor operations and adjust parameters to achieve required results.

Ensure the readiness of the blasting robot as per equipment readiness checklist.

Ensure the activities meet the forecasted schedule without any delay and safely executed.

Provide training for candidates selected by Group Painting Manager to perform the above duties when it is required.

Ensure compliance to HSES policies and procedures as applicable.

Ensure compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.

Role Specific Competencies :

Minimum grade 12th or equivalent with computer skills and robotics-specific competencies to operate software programs for robots, preferred to have a Diploma or ITI in computer programming.

Good or excellent knowledge of computers and/or 3D-modelling software.

Strong technical understanding and problem-solving skills.

Technical education in automation, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, robotics, or similar experience.

Experience with industrial robots (ABB) is an advantage.

Programming language experience in Python, C/C++, Arduino or similar

Experience with CAD systems is an advantage.

Understanding of surface treatment processes is a plus.

Minimum 3 years blasting experience in marine / protective.

Previous experience in blasting or automated machinery operation.

Ability to read and understand technical instructions.

Commitment to workplace safety.

English language skills, suitable for professional correspondence and documentation.
