Job Description

About the Job:

The BOM & Program Readiness Engineer is responsible for ensuring the technical and operational readiness of all components required for vehicle production. This includes maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), validating engineering changes, and coordinating cross-functional readiness activities for new models, part introductions, and model-year updates. New programs/models launch management is an integral part of the role responsibilities, following projects milestones and timeline to successful launch. The role safeguards product integrity by ensuring all specifications, documentation, internal and external production requirements and approvals are complete before production launch.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fully accurate and up-to-date BOMs for all vehicle models and variants.
  • Review and validate Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring timely and correct implementation with CKD planning, Material planning, Engineering, and Production teams.
  • Manage ECNs impact on program's manufacturing BOMs.
  • Ensure accuracy of material master data, including UoM, sourcing, and part classification.
  • Manages new models and program launches through coordination with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure readiness for new components, tooling, and model launches.
  • Track tooling readiness, supplier approvals, PPAP status, and other launch-critical milestones.
  • Lead structured readiness reviews for new model introductions and model-year changes.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through BOM analysis and component optimization.
  • Maintain strong documentation discipline to support audits and traceability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Automotive experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of automotive components and manufacturing processes.
  • 2–4 years of experience in BOM management, Engineering change control, and Project/Program management.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • High attention to detail and structured documentation skills.
  • Experience with cross functional projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office tools.
  • Power BI and Basic automation or Python coding is a plus.
  • APICS CPIM Certification is a plus.
