Job Title : Business Applications Senior Specialist
Job Purpose:
To participate in developing, installing, designing, implementing, testing and monitoring technology programs and applications, as well as providing required support to ensure that system operating information is complete and up to date. To work with external vendors and internal applications administrators, to ensure computer systems meet the quality standards and conform to industry practices.
Key responsibilities :
Application Development
- Under general guidance of the unit head, carryout the initiation of projects related to application development to meet unit objectives at optimal efficiency levels.
- Prepare reports and analyse the data accordingly, in order to provide objective and factual information to the unit head regarding new project work and necessary improvements on current applications.
- Participate in the evaluation of the museums computer system capabilities, workflow and software, for effectiveness and efficiency at installing and implementing various information system applications.
- Develop the architecture of system applications, as well as the testing, installing and implementation phases.
- Participate in the documentation of all relevant user instruction manuals and data accessibility matrices.
- Participate in creating detailed logical flow charts and in the conversion of their specifications into computer coded programming language.
- Participate in the development, implementation and update of programs, and analyse current output versus expected results.
- Proactively debug programs to ensure that they are free of errors, such as runtime or linker errors, by applying different debugging methodologies such as the use of print statements, lint programs and/or a walk through process.
- Design and develop advanced spreadsheets using different functions and conditional formulae.
- Carryout the production of any required technical reports and instructional manuals relevant to programs developed.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a file which lists utilized applications and programs and includes information such as dates, names, locations and changes and additions made.
- Participate in designing and coding layouts for onscreen user interfaces of applications
Qualification (e.g. Academic Qualification, Certifications, Licenses)
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Certifications in IT is preferred.
- Experience with CSS, HTML, SQL, EDI, C, and SQL Server software and systems.
- Sound understanding of software development life cycles, scripting, systems programming, Agile, and Javascript.
Experience
- Bachelor Degree Holder: 3 to 5 years of experience in Web Application/ Information Systems domain.
