Role Summary:
The incumbent, as the Business Development Manager within the Food division of GMG, is responsible for identifying growth opportunities and expanding market reach within the MEA region. It includes conducting market research, developing strategies, and building and maintaining relationships with existing customers while securing new distributors and partners. The incumbent works to establish strategic alliances with distributors to optimize product distribution and improve the supply chain. Additionally, he is responsible for driving sales growth through pricing strategies and promotional campaigns, while collaborating with internal teams for product development.
Responsibilities:
* Developing and executing a robust business development strategy to support GMG's growth in MEA markets, from market entry strategies to identifying key partners and distribution channels.
* Lead market research initiatives, analysing competitive landscapes, consumer trends, and regulatory requirements to inform GMG's expansion plans and develop targeted business strategies.
* Builds and manages strong relationships with international clients within MEA region, preparing business plan, negotiating terms and contracts that meet profitability and market penetration targets.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, and product development, to ensure that product offerings are tailored to each market's unique needs.
* Responsible for overseeing sales forecasts, setting annual revenue goals, and tracking performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
* Identifies new product and service opportunities, works to optimize pricing strategies, and supports product launches in MEA region.
* Lead business presentations and participate in trade exhibitions to strengthen GMG's visibility.
* Tracking KPIs, analysing sales data, and preparing detailed reports on business development progress, providing insights to the senior management to guide strategic decision-making.
People Management:
The incumbent is responsible for setting clear objectives and performance targets in collaboration with team members, ensuring alignment with overall organizational goals. This role involves actively mentoring, guiding, and providing direction to the team to cultivate skill development, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. The incumbent applies structured performance management practices to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and drive the team towards achieving periodic KPIs. Through strategic oversight and regular feedback, the incumbent fosters a results-oriented environment, empowering the team to meet and exceed established benchmarks while supporting both individual and collective growth.
