Job Description

The Buying Executive will be responsible for planning, sourcing, and purchasing product ranges for the furniture and home dcor categories in line with the company's monthly OTB budget and sales targets. The role involves supplier selection, product range development, price negotiation, market analysis, inventory planning, and continuous monitoring of product performance to maximize sales and margins.

The ideal candidate will work closely with planners, suppliers, QC, DEO, e-commerce, and showroom teams to ensure timely procurement, stock availability, competitive pricing, and alignment with current market trends. This position requires strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and hands-on experience in retail buying, forecasting, and supplier management within the furniture or home dcor industry.

Salary Dhs. 4,000 to 5,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Select suppliers and determine product ranges in line with the monthly OTB plan.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly OTB targets and buying budgets.
  • Work out the order quantities before sharing with the planner for final confirmation.
  • Negotiate all purchase orders to secure the best possible pricing and commercial terms.
  • Monitor and stay updated on all ordered SKUs to avoid duplication across different suppliers.
  • Track and analyze the top-selling and bottom-selling products within assigned categories.
  • Review supplier performance on a monthly basis before planning future orders with the same suppliers.
  • Monitor month-to-month growth and decline of categories along with margin performance.
  • Coordinate monthly item coding with the planner and prepare necessary action plans.
  • Review stock cover, non-display items, and reorder requirements in coordination with the planner.
  • Share product training files and specifications with the QC team.
  • Review and supervise the completion of e-commerce product files and listings.
  • Follow up on production schedules and shipment status with suppliers.
  • Review newly received shipments, sales performance, and in-store displays.
  • Conduct competitor and market visits once a month to stay updated on current market trends.
  • Perform any special assignments as delegated by the Head of Department.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Required

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Merchandising, or a related field.
  • 23 years of experience in a similar buying / purchasing role within the retail furniture or home dcor industry.
  • Well-experienced in forecasting, purchasing, and inventory planning.
  • Strong knowledge of market research, market trends, and sales analysis.
  • Strong background in merchandise planning, buying processes, and stock level management.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with knowledge of pricing strategies and margin management.
