Short Description
Duties:
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the administration, customization & maintenance of Engineering applications including 2D design tools, visualization of 3D facility models, process model and simulation, document management of engineering systems and specialist engineering calculation and modeling tools.
Functional Duties:
- Managing day to day queries of users applicable to his area of expertise.
- Customization of Symbols in the Company maintained standard database - Verify backup routines.
- Report Customization in standard database.
Any other product customization as per Engineering requirement.
- Project Creation/Setup.
- Conduct basic & advanced user level training sessions for operators, engineers and technicians.
- Provide technical assistance and resolution/troubleshooting support to ensure project integrity.
- Ensure the maintenance of computer aided design tools database to include all supporting information related to various engineering projects.
- Oversee and control the electronic drawing files, survey data files of completed and current projects for easy identification and reference.
- Perform repair, if required and consult with IT and vendor via service request.
- Perform data processing activities such as data cleaning, conversion tool development and database management.
- Responsible for establishing project estimates and oversight of project budgets. This would include:-Assist in the estimation of man-hours and resources needed for the successful completion of the project.
- Evaluate contractors/service providers for sound CAE practice and conformance with established Company standards; recommend approval or disapproval.
- Support in the development of scope and material take-offs.
- Ensure that the appropriate quantities of licenses are available for the project.
- Participate in product design and development and regularly present analysis results to engineering peers and leaders.
- Participate in all Assembly, Product, Performance, Operation, Rollout Verification and End-to-End tests (FAT & SAT).
- Evaluate repair proposals for sound CAE practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval.
- Participate in fit-for-service evaluations of new and repaired CAE equipment.
- Keeps well informed on current technology applicable to area of expertise and recommend solutions.
- May write and/or review articles written by others for publication in professional journals or for presentation at technical conferences in coordination with management and public affairs.
- Protect Company confidential information by not communicating, disclosing, or using for benefit of third parties and maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.
- Perform any job-related activities as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.
Education:
Essential: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
