Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter with expertise in both design and construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, cabinetry, and structural woodwork, along with the ability to interpret and create plans. This role involves working on custom projects, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning:
- Collaborate with clients to develop custom woodwork plans.
- Read and interpret, sketches and drawings.
- Provide input on material selection, structural integrity, and design feasibility.
- Construction & Installation:
- Build, install, and repair wooden structures, including furniture, cabinets, doors, windows, and framing.
- Perform precise measurements, cutting, shaping, and assembly of materials.
- Install fixtures, trim, and finishing elements with high attention to detail.
- Material & Tool Management:
- Select appropriate lumber, hardware, and materials based on project requirements.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Quality Control & Safety:
- Ensure all work meets industry standards and client specifications.
- Always follow safety protocols.
- Conduct inspections and make adjustments as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a carpenter
- Proficiency in reading and creating drawings
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, joinery, and finishing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Certification in carpentry or relevant trade school training preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Custom furniture making or cabinetry.
- Residential or commercial construction.
- Restoration or heritage carpentry work.
