Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Accountant to join AROS Roboshops team, who will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining effective financial controls. This role also supports business activities related to Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and automated coffee vending operations, including revenue tracking, inventory accounting, and cost recognition.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with company standards

Ensure proper revenue recognition, including transactions from POS systems and vending operations

Accounting for POS & Vending Operations

Ensure accurate recording of daily sales from POS terminals and vending machines

Monitor and account for machine-based revenue streams, including card and mobile payments

Reconcile transaction reports with accounting records on a regular basis

Maintain accurate inventory records for consumables (coffee beans, cups, milk, sugar, etc.)

Account for machine-related activities, including installation, leasing, maintenance, and service contracts

Compliance & Internal Controls

Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, VAT requirements, and statutory obligations

Prepare and manage tax filings, audits, and regulatory reporting

Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls

Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities

Team Leadership & Coordination

Supervise and guide the accounting team

Establish and enhance accounting procedures and financial processes

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, sales, logistics, and technical departments

About you:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage

5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial reporting in the UAE

Experience in retail, POS systems, or vending operations is preferred

Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations

Proven experience with month-end and year-end closing processes

Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience working with auditors and managing audits

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively
