About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead our accounting team across the UAE and Oman. This role will oversee financial reporting, audits, compliance, and internal controls while ensuring robust support for investment and holding structures. The ideal candidate will bring strong IFRS expertise, hands-on tax compliance experience in the UAE, and proven leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise an accounting team of 4 staff in the UAE and 2 staff in Oman.
- Organize and oversee accounting processes in compliance with IFRS standards and local tax regulations.
- Design, implement, and monitor effective accounting and internal control procedures.
- Prepare and deliver monthly IFRS financial reporting for a portfolio of investment and holding structures in the UAE and Oman.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive management reporting system for shareholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of VAT and Corporate Tax (CT) returns in the UAE.
- Prepare, review and approve contracts from an accounting and tax perspective.
- Organize and maintain proper archiving of accounting and legal documentation.
- Coordinate annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience as Chief Accountant, Reporting Manager, or in a senior accounting leadership role.
- Demonstrated expertise in accounting methodologies and compliance requirements for investment funds, trusts, and foundations.
- Proven experience in IFRS financial reporting preparation.
- Hands-on expertise with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance strategic oversight and day-to-day operations.
- Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven.
- Preferred: Russian-speaking, though not mandatory.
