Job Description:

The CCO will be a pivotal executive, responsible for maximizing the commercial potential of this iconic global landmark through strategic initiatives across all revenue-generating functions. This role demands a unique blend of commercial acumen, entertainment/tourism industry expertise, and strategic leadership to elevate the visitor experience and drive sustainable financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Commercial Leadership & Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy: Conceptualize, implement, and lead a unified commercial strategy for the entire Pyramids site portfolio, focused on generating revenue and enhancing long-term commercial value across OPE and OSL.
  • Monetization Strategy: Design and implement diverse and innovative monetization strategies for all attractions, events, services, and commercial spaces on site including the core Sound & Light show.
  • Budget & P&L Management: Manage the commercial division's budget and be accountable for its (P&L) performance, achieving ambitious revenue targets.

2. Events & Culture:


  • Events Strategy: Lead the strategy for developing, attracting, and executing high-profile events and cultural activations that are aligned with the historical and global significance of the Pyramids.

3. Sponsorship & Strategic Partnerships:


  • Partnership Negotiation: Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic, high-value partnerships and sponsorships (local and international) that enhance the site's commercial appeal, provide financial success, and align with the brand image.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Maintain robust relationships with key commercial partners, government entities, and global tourism/entertainment stakeholders.

4. Leasing & Commercial Space Management:


  • Commercial Leasing: Oversee the leasing and management of all commercial spaces and shops (retail, food and beverage, services) within the Pyramids site, ensuring an optimal tenant mix and maximizing rental revenue.
  • Design and Layout: Provide commercial input on the design, layout, and functionality of commercial areas to maximize foot traffic and sales potential.

5. Visitation, Guest Services & Experience:


  • Visitation & Flow: Develop and execute strategies to drive and optimize visitor numbers for both the daytime experience (OPE) and the evening Sound & Light show (OSL), ensuring seamless visitor flow between the two offerings.
  • Guest Services Oversight: Lead the Guest Services function to ensure world-class customer service, seamless ticketing, and high visitor satisfaction across all touchpoints for both entities.
  • Experience Enhancement: Continuously assess and improve the overall visitor journey and service delivery to maximize positive reviews and repeat visitation.

6. Merchandising:


  • Develop and implement the merchandising strategy for the entire site, including product selection, sourcing, retail management, and intellectual property utilization to maximize retail revenue while maintaining brand integrity.

7. Sound & Light Show (OSL) Management:


  • Directly manage the commercial aspects of Sound & Light attraction, including global distribution, pricing, marketing alignment, and sales strategy.
  • Revenue Generation: Drive ticket sales and ancillary revenue for the show, ensuring it operates as a premium and commercially successful global offering.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is required; a master's degree (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior commercial leadership roles, with a strong preference for candidates within the entertainment, tourism, hospitality, or attractions industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing commercial strategies that directly resulted in significant revenue generation and market share growth.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing diverse, multi-functional teams, specifically covering functions such as Events, Leasing, Sponsorship, and Marketing.
  • Exceptional skills in negotiating and closing strategic partnerships, sponsorships, and commercial leases with major corporate entities.
