Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Engineer (Mechanical / Electrical) to lead the engineering and maintenance operations across its ports, terminals, and fleet assets. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of all mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems, supporting efficient port and maritime operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance teams across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of port infrastructure, machinery, vessels, and terminal equipment (e.g., cranes, conveyors, forklifts).
  • Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs are implemented and followed effectively.
  • Plan and execute technical projects, upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs, asset performance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets, resources, and spare parts inventory efficiently.
  • Coordinate with operations, safety, and procurement teams to ensure smooth workflow and equipment availability.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting, problem-solving, and emergency operations.
  • Stay updated on latest engineering technologies and recommend innovations to improve efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Marine Engineering.
  • Experience in engineering, maintenance, or operations, preferably in ports, maritime, shipping, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Proven experience in managing teams, maintenance planning, and technical operations.
  • Strong knowledge of marine equipment, port machinery, and electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, maritime compliance, and international standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strategic planning and execution of engineering operations.
  • Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, hydraulics, and electromechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management systems (CMMS) and asset reliability practices.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
