Job Summary
Managing and coordinating all civil technical office activities within engineering consultancy projects. The role ensures the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of drawings, technical submissions, and documentation, while providing technical support to project teams, clients, and contractors in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and consultancy best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and coordinate civil design drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents in compliance with project requirements and codes.
- Prepare and review technical submittals, method statements, and material approvals.
- Coordinate with design disciplines to resolve technical clashes and ensure design consistency.
- Support project planning by reviewing BOQs, specifications, and scope of work.
- Provide technical support to site teams and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
- Review contractor submissions and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Participate in value engineering proposals and technical optimization solutions.
- Ensure adherence to local and international codes, standards, and consultancy best practices.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, technical clarifications, and bid evaluations when required.
- Monitor technical progress and report issues, risks, and deviations to management.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on technical matters.
- Maintain proper documentation control for all technical office deliverables.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in technical office roles within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong command of civil design standards, detailing, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office; knowledge of structural software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS) is a plus.
- Familiarity with local and international codes (ACI, BS, ASTM, etc.).
- Excellent technical writing, documentation, and reporting skills.
- Strong coordination and communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- High attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
